Pre-Conference Workshop: Rural Schools Grow PD Together
Shannon Rennaker
Tarkio R-I School District

All Missouri schools are under pressure to grow and improve; this usually means PD for teachers and administrators. I would like to present an idea for rural schools to ban together and share their best resources- teachers! This is a presentation to encourage schools to work together and throw away the idea of competing with one another. Currently the need for schools to align curriculum, implement the new Common Core Standards, create common assessments, find creative ways to get professional development, etc. means that many rural schools could easily deplete their funds quickly; my suggestion is designed to spark the idea of working together. I will explain how we can consider helping one another; a way to better serve our students.
