Room Reservations:
You must register for the conference before reserving your room at Camden on the Lake.  A group code will be sent to you via email once your conference registration has been received.  The room rate is $133 per night.


Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations will be accepted ONLY if received before July 1, 2020 and will be subject to a $50 administrative charge. Any cancellations not received by July 1 will be charged the entire fee.

FERPA, Custody, Subpoenas, & Orders of Protection:  Cant' We All Just Get Along?

This session will review the basics of FERPA and how it applies in the context of custody orders and identifying who has access to what records.  We will provide tips for successfully navigating disputes between parents regarding their custodial rights in the school context, and what to do when faced with Orders of Protection.  Finally, we will identify best practices for responding to subpoenas for school records.

Each of us knows what it feels like to be around difficult people at work. Whether you’re dealing with an employee, colleague, boss, or someone else in the educational community, difficult people can test our patience and cause us much frustration and anxiety. The situation can also result in an overall unhealthy and unproductive work environment. In this session, we will explore what experts tell us about working with difficult people and how to keep the negative impact on you and others to a minimum. We’ll also explore ways to impact difficult people so that they can be a more productive part of the team.

1. Identify strategies given by experts to deal with difficult people
2. Apply strategies to current work environment
3. Relate strategies to other leaders in the educational community
