"Where do I begin?"  Now that you have the job, what do you do first?   This session will provide leaders with guidance and resources to help your first days, weeks, and months go smoothly!  Walk away with a resource bank of helpful checklists, tips, and suggestions that come from others who have been there!  Plus, learn how to take care of yourself, and "Sharpen the Saw" in your first year.

Session #2 – Decisions, Decisions, Decisions! Building Basic Skills and Awareness in Administrative Decision-Making.
Lora Rost – Heart of Missouri Leadership Facilitator
Kimberly Presko- Heart of Missouri Leadership Facilitator

The fact that you make hundreds of decisions a day can potentially result in either amazing or disastrous perceptions regarding you as a leader. In this session you will discover how the hidden powers of communication and decision making can impact your leadership.  From whom you involve to lasting decisions, you must become aware of how the way you make decisions impacts others.

In this session you will explore the dual nature of decision-making and when and how to involve others in decision-making.

Session #3 – Effective Meetings
Gena McCluskey – Columbia Area Leadership Facilitator
Vince Powell – Southeast Area Leadership Facilitator

Meetings are an effective way to bring people together to increase communication, effectiveness, collaboration, and achieve results.  Leadership is an investment in people.  Putting effort into planning and running each of your meetings is one way to show value and respect for your stakeholders and their time.

Your first meetings as a leader are key to a great start.  During this session, participants will investigate components of effective meetings and will generate ideas for planning your first meetings as a building leader.
