Active Principal or Assistant PrincipalFor practicing elementary or middle-level principals, assistant principals, and eligible administrators with major supervisory or administrative responsibility. Aspiring PrincipalFor teachers, students, and other educators interested in school administration or participating in a recognized administrator-preparation program. Associate MemberFor postsecondary educators, licensed non-practicing administrators, retired principals still working in education outside an active principalship, and others who do not qualify for another category. Retired MemberFor retired principals who held Active membership at retirement and are no longer working in education. Legal BenefitsEligible members can build up to $500 in MAESP job-protection legal support, beginning with $200 in the second consecutive year and increasing by $100 each year. Membership dues to Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. However, they may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed by the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 as a result of association lobbying activities. Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals estimates that the non-deductible portion of your 2026 dues which is allocated to lobbying activity is 13%. |
