MAESP, MoASSP and MoCASE are joining together to offer a free webinar to members.
Building principals are expected to support special education instruction, provide meaningful feedback to teachers, and improve outcomes for students with disabilities — yet many administrators admit they are unsure what high-quality specially designed instruction (SDI) should actually look like during classroom observations.
This webinar, presented by Cristina Heet and Jeanne Rothermel, introduces a practical Instructional Practice Guide and Reflection Tool developed by the Missouri Council of Administrators of Special Education (MO-CASE) to help school leaders confidently identify explicit and specially designed instruction in action. Participants will explore real-world indicators of effective SDI, learn how to use the tool during observations and coaching conversations, and gain practical strategies for supporting stronger instructional practices across special education settings. Attendees will leave with ready-to-use resources that can strengthen teacher support, improve instructional consistency, and increase outcomes for students with disabilities.
